I am a white American female and I certainly put a lot of effort into making my guy happy. I have never thought of our relationship in terms of gender roles. I cook for him because I know he likes it. I make sure he has a clean house and clean pajamas and slippers to come home to after work. I rub his feet after he works a 12 hour shift as a nurse in the hospital. And he does so many wonderful things for me. I dont serve him because I feel it is my duty or obligation as a female. I do it because he is above all else my best friend, and I consider what I do to be nothing more than one friend showing kindness to another. I dont hate Asian girls either, if all these western guys want to get involved with them then its none of my business. I also dont feel threatened by them at all because I completely confident in the knowledge that I am a good partner who can compete with any woman out there. If some guy writes me off simply because of untrue stereotypes based solely on my background, then who needs him. By the way my guy used to be engaged to a VERY traditional Japanese girl, and he tells me that I give him way more massages then she ever did. I never yell when I'm angry, but apparently she screamed and threw things all the time. Also he tells me that I am much more willing to get involved in his hobbies rather than refusing to participate because I feel that his interests are too juvenile. In sum, we are all individuals with our own flaws and quirks. We will all be difficult people to deal with at one point in our lives or another; I know I can be a real pain at times....
